Phase 1: is our preliminary course designed for those with no prior knowledge of the California public works requirements. Here is where you will be introduced to terms, key players and your overall responsibility as a contractor.
Phase 2: is where we dive into the compliance requirements placed on us by the State of California. This course outlines CCS’ approach to compliance by outlining the steps that a contractor should take for each project. We take you online and teach you how to navigate the DIR website. We go over all the key components - proper wages, certified payroll, apprentice requirements, training fund contributions and form.
Phase 3: join us for phase 3 to continue your education. During this course we go into details that will assist your company make money-saving decisions by showing you how to take credit for fringe benefits. We show you how to calculate overtime and travel time properly.
Phase 4: here is where we take in-depth look at the different types of projects and how they apply to Public Works. How to best set our office up for success and what internal processes we should consider for smooth compliance. We also talk more about the little nuisances of compliance that can effect projects.
Phase 5: is designed to put everything together. During this phase we share with you our experiences as a compliance company and allow you to share your experiences and lessons learned with the class. This is an open forum course, the instructor will speak in further detail about the requirements learned in phases 2 and 3, while introducing real world solutions through provided templates.
Federal Add-On (Davis-Bacon): this is an add-on course that focuses on the federal public works requirements. It is not the complete program, but more of a fundamental course to enhance your public works knowledge. (can only be taken if the previous 4 phases have been taken)
